Tug Of War

There’s a tug of war in here
Oh there’s a tug of war

You make me cry
You make me laugh
You drink my love
And spit at me
You slap my face
And stroke my hair
You light my flames
And chill my bones
I say goodbye
And cling to you
I rue the day
I kissed your lips
I speak your name
And feel the shame

And fight this war
Inside of me

Besides the fact that my comment will probably be first....I really like the depiction of the struggle here. The question that comes to mind is, besides the apparent shame - do you really want to win this war? I can't help but wonder. Brilliant as usual. Well done!

Isn't that typical of some sad love stories?
The very thing that gives you so much pleasure also causes intense pain?

*Sigh*

A nice poem, as always!

That is perhaps the simplest depiction of discordant voices I have read in a long time. Nice!

I hope this is a peom that has no bearing with you cuz if it does, it's a war we must fight to end!

Perhaps failure only occurs when we fold and die....... Food for thought!

SCHIZO!!!

Hello Fangface, was beginning to wonder when you'd be back.

About poem: as someone else said very simple depiction of this theme. Works well. Interesting to note that the war is internal...

(I always knew you were manic depressive and now you're schizoid as well. Any other 'dysfunctions'?) :)

Metinks,if there's a war raging within, one isn't quite ready to let go yet.

Guilty pleasures, maybe, but pleasures nonetheless.

What is life but for its pleasures?

Probably applied to everyone's life at some point in one shape or form. Brilliantly written as always. I love your poetic style

@everyone: I am back! this poem isn't about relationships with the opposite gender. it is just about those things that you know you should give up but never really do.

Forgive my silence as always. it will all be explained soon.
